Pay Less for Your Heating & Cooling in Yakima
Today’s heating and air conditioning systems are more energy-efficient than the models sold even 5 to 10 years ago. If you are currently in the market for a new HVAC system, make sure to look for a higher SEER on cooling and heat pump systems or a higher AFUE on furnaces to reduce your fuel consumption.
SEER, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and AFUE, or Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, are the measure of efficiency for air conditioners and heaters, respectively. A higher SEER or AFUE means lower energy costs. The minimum standard SEER of air conditioners today is 13, although several major brands are already offering air conditioners with a SEER of up to 21. Meanwhile, the AFUE of today’s energy-efficient heaters ranges from 78% to 97%.
